UNC Celebrates a Double Overtime Win Against App State in the 1st Home Game of the Season

This past Saturday evening, I sat in the student section of the Kenan Memorial Stadium biting my nails in the pouring rain as I watched the Heels and Mountaineers battle on the feild. Between the thousands of fans, dark and stormy skies, and the constant back and forth between UNC and App, tension was flying through the air.

The teams traded scores throughout the entire game, leading to not just one overtime, but eventually a double overtime. It was nerve racking. Fortunately, UNC's offense stepped into the second overtime with an immediate touchdown, capping the game at a 40-34 victory. Despite the several moments where the outcome seemed blurry, the Heels finished the night on top. Let’s hope that the Heels can pull out another win in their next game against Minnesota this Saturday, Sept. 16 at 3:30 pm in the Kenan Stadium.
