Throughout June - July 2024, I worked as a sales and marketing intern at the luxury womenswear label Markarian in New York City. This internship granted me the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals who taught me the ins and outs of the fashion world. My responsibilities ranged from market research, brand strategy, updating our Shopify, personal appointment assistance, inventory management, monthly retail check-ins and ongoing competitive analysis. This experience not only solidified my passion for the fashion industry but also helped provide a clearer vision of my career goals.

During my freshman year of college at UNC, I served as a remote public relations intern for the women empowerment and lifestyle brand Miss EmpowHer. This company was founded by Caitlyn Kumi, a UNC alum who was recently featured on the 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Since its establishment in 2020, Kumi has grown the brand into a successful company that empowers women by providing the resources, community, and support they need to achieve their full potential.

As an intern, I was responsible for updating pitch decks, website design, curating blog posts, outreach and tracking social media content. I also co-created the first Miss EmpowHer Campus Chapter Program at UNC, Chapel Hill. This was an extremely rewarding experience as it not only helped hone my public relations skills but also inspired me to live a life that aligns with the values of the company. Working in such an uplifting, empowering environment with amazing mentorship helped give me a better understanding of the types of roles I want to seek out in my future career.
During my junior year of high school, I completed a semester-long internship for HvM Communications, a boutique public relations firm in New York City. Throughout my role as an intern, I was involved in several projects include drafting pitches, updating and managing press lists, brainstorming event ideas, designing press materials for market, researching media and influencers for outreach, monitoring press coverage, daily administrative tasks, and more. This internship meant a lot to me as it spearheaded my love for the public relations world and helped me gain the skills necessary to work within this industry.
